I have had success using them straight from the box by setting DIP 1 to DTR override and DIP 5 to AutoAnswer. However the last two I've tried don't keep the AutoAnswer on. Do I have bad modems or do I need to set something with AT commands? Ian |

If connected with all lines of the DB9 serial cable, the USR modem would not hold the AutoAnswer setting if the modem powered up after the device was connected. The device must be puting out a signal on one of the lines that confuses the modem. Everything works fine if I connected with only pins 2,3 and 5 (and my cable had 7-8 connected together at the modem) Ian |
